The Swedish Ingrid Bergman had the female lead role. When it came out in 1946, and when it was shown in Germany, the dubbing was completely altered. Any mention of the word “Nazi” was removed, and “uranium” was altered to “kokain” (or similar, can’t remember exactly). There was no reference to the war whatsoever, and it was several years before the movie was shown “as is”.
